Enhancing Missouri Competiveness

Support the University through performance funding and through programs that play a critical role in strengthening economic competitiveness. Support educating students and fostering research and innovation in the mental health and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) disciplines.

Performance Funding – $21.7 million

5% increase to core appropriation, to be funded through a new state formula that rewards institutions for improved outcomes and meeting performance measures.

STEM Education and Research Capacity – $8.7 million

Increasing the number of students educated in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs will help meet growing job demands and investing in facilities, infrastructure and cutting-edge equipment will enhance Missouri’s competitiveness in this critical area of our state’s economy.
